Open Board Member Positions
Dear Michigan ACTE Members:
We hope your school year is off to a great start! Michigan ACTE currently has three (3) open Board seats, with seven candidates vying to fill these vacancies created by retirements and the growth of Career & Technical Education (CTE).
We invite you to review each candidate’s letter of interest and résumé, then cast your vote for up to three (3) candidates using the link provided below.
Voting closes Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 5:00 PM.
As you review each candidate’s qualifications, keep in mind the expectations for Michigan ACTE Board Members. These leaders play a vital role in advancing Career & Technical Education across the state.
Expectations include:
- Regular attendance at Board meetings, typically held on the second Friday of each month (some virtual, some in person).
- Participation in the annual summer workshop (July 13–15, 2026, in Grand Haven; future years TBD).
- Serving as a subcommittee chair (Communications, Professional Development, Membership, Awards, Legislative & Advocacy) and as a member of a second subcommittee.
- Assisting with the planning and delivery of statewide professional development (e.g., MI ACTE Summer CTE Conference, CTE Teacher Support Workshops).
- Demonstrating a strong commitment to advancing and improving Career & Technical Education in Michigan.

Who is eligible to vote?
Only current MI ACTE members are eligible to vote in Board elections. If you’re not yet a member, we encourage you to join!
